The Bollin Group Limited has acquired 1000 Mile Sportswear, a 20+ year old British sock manufacturer best known for its double-layer, anti-blister system, and also responsible for the Ultimate Performance and Ultimate Performance Medical brands. The Bollin Group, headquartered in Macclesfield, UK, is a holding company that includes Mountain Equipment, Sprayway, Bridgedale, Go Systems, Ron Hill and Hilly Clothing Limited as well as Burton McCall Limited, a multichannel distributor of premium brands, including Maglite, Victorinox, Felco and Camelbak with retail distribution ranging from high street stores to independent shops, from garden centers to hardware chains, all across the UK.
Jack Galaun, the former owner of 1000 Mile Sportswear, is heading into retirement while sales directors Nik Aveyard and Greg Soffe and sales manager Warren Smith will take up equivalent roles in the new setup. Burton McCall Limited, the distribution business owned by the Bollin Group, will act as distributor of both 1000 Mile and Ultimate Performance, relocating the operations to Leicester in August.
