Austrian sportswear manufacturer Löffler has significantly expanded its commitment to supply chain transparency, making the production steps of over 180 products traceable through the retraced platform. Since autumn 2021, Löffler has been working with the Düsseldorf-based technology company Retraced, enabling customers to access detailed supply chain information via QR codes on product tags.

“Our conviction is that transparency is a central driver for sustainability,” said Otto Leodolter, CEO of Löffler. Starting with individual products in winter 2022, Löffler unveiled its first fully traceable collection in summer 2024, comprising 81 products. The company’s entire winter 2024/25 cross-country skiing collection features transparent supply chains. Over 60 suppliers and production partners have been integrated into the retraced platform.

In addition to retraced, Löffler uses the Oeko-Tex Made in Green certification, ensuring products meet strict environmental and ethical standards. Nineteen Löffler products currently carry this certification, recognized by Greenpeace as a reliable quality label. To achieve this, all product components must comply with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and all suppliers must be Oeko-Tex STeP certified.

Leodolter emphasized Löffler’s unique advantage due to its regional textile production within Europe. “We’ve never outsourced our production. We handle everything from the yarn to the labels and zippers ourselves. This not only secures high standards for the environment and people but also gives us a deep understanding of our supply chain, exceeding industry norms.”

Löffler aims to set a new standard for mid-sized companies in the textile industry, demonstrating that comprehensive supply chain transparency is both feasible and beneficial.
