After we reported earlier this month that Pelican Products and its European arm, Peli Products, are increasing their commitment to recycling its manufacturing waste, the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance protective cases has now announced the official commitment to improving its sustainability policies and practices, including its social responsibility and stewardship of the environment.

In addition to striving to provide a safe and healthy workplace for its employees and contributing to charitable causes through financial support and product donations to charities, Peli has defined goals that will shape its future sustainable development. These include prioritizing safety and equity, valuing all segments of society, improving product recyclability and reusability, and promoting resource efficiency.

To engage globally, Peli has found it essential to align its social and sustainability strategy with global standards, and specifically the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company claims to have implemented six SDGs already in recent years, including decent work and economic growth for all its employees, ISO 9001 certification of six of Peli’s seven production sites, reusability of all of the company’s products as well as the use of alternatives to cardboard and other packaging materials and commitment to ethical corporate governance characterized by fairness and human dignity. Central to the company’s mission, Peli said, in line with the UN SDGs, is to protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all human beings by 2030.

More details on the company’s overall commitment to responsible, ethical and sustainable business operations as well as progress on these goals over the past year, can be found in Pelican Products’ 2020 Social Responsibility Report (direct PDF download).
