New York-based online marketplace operator Etsy has appointed Rafe Colburn as Chief Technology Officer, effective May 5, 2025. Colburn, currently CTO at Depop, returns to Etsy after nearly a decade of leading key engineering teams. “He has a clear vision for creating shopping experiences that are highly differentiated, personalized, and relevant,” said Etsy CEO Josh Silverman. Colburn will be based at Etsy’s Brooklyn HQ and report directly to Silverman.
