Globetrotter Ausrüstung, the big German retailer, is about to move and to enlarge its shop in Frankfurt. By spring 2012, the new mega store will have a selling surface of 4,200 square meters, or three times more than the current outlet. Frankfurt’s new Globetrotter will be part of a completely refurbished area in the Ostend (“east end”) with modern shopping, living and working facilities in a “green” recreational zone on the outskirts of the city. The new location is just around the corner from the European Central Bank. The news of the new Frankfurt store came right after the announcement that the Hamburg-based chain intends to enlarge and move its store in Dresden (see the last issue of THE COMPASS).
