Hyosung has begun commercial operation at its first spandex plant in India. The facility, which occupies about 400,000 square meters, is located in the Auric industrial complex near Aurangabad, in the state of Maharashtra. It has an annual production capacity of 18,000 tons of spandex. Hyosung began operations in India in 2007. The new spandex plant is expected to further increase its sales. The South Korean fiber firm is now reportedly considering the Americas as the next site for a spandex manufacturing facility.
