In reporting its results for its first financial quarter, ended on June 30, Asics Corporation said that its “Other Business” segment, which includes Haglöfs, suffered an operating loss of ¥176 million (€1.37m-$1.82m) versus a profit of 25 million in the period a year ago. Divisional sales went up by 17.5 percent to ¥2.55 billion (€19.85m-$26.37m), but declined by 1.6 percent in local currencies. The group said that “steady” sales of outdoor shoes offset “weak” sales of outdoor clothing under the Swedish brand and other products.
