Mammut has announced that it is opening a new regional sales and marketing office in Denver, Colorado. The management said the move is intended to more closely connect with many key accounts as well as consumers utilizing life-saving avalanche gear. The office, located in the RiNo neighborhood of Denver, will be opening next month.

To support this office, Mammut also announced the appointment of a new key accounts manager, Josh Manson, who previously worked as a sales rep for DC Shoes, Neff, Zeal Optics, L1 outerwear, Nitro Snowboards and other brands in the Rocky Mountains region. He will focus on supporting Mammut's key account business with large outdoor retailers including REI, Backcountry and MEC.

John Sullivan, who had been appointed as chief financial officer for Mammut North America in mid-2018, will continue to lead finance, administration and operations out of the U.S. subsidiary's headquarters in Burlington.

The brand's interim managing director, Kris Kuster, will continue to lead North American sales and marketing activities, and he will be based in the new regional Denver office. Last October, the Swiss sports group had appointed Kuster, who was formerly running its Swiss operations, as managing director of Mammut North America.

Kuster's appointment followed the sudden departure of Joe Prebich after only about six months in the post. Mammut said the separation was made “professionally,” but offered no explanations for the move. Prior to his stint at Mammut, where he helped the Swiss company to take over Mountain Hub, Prebich worked for Fjallräven, Zeal Optics and Oakley.

Separately, Michael König, a former chief executive officer of the China National Bluestar Group who previously held senior roles at Bayer, will replace Werner Dubach as a director of Conzzeta, the parent company of Mammut, at its annual meeting in April.
