Messe Friedrichshafen, organizer of the OutDoor and Eurobike shows, says that record numbers of exhibitors have so far signed up for both. OutDoor’s exhibition space has grown to 85,000 square meters, and so far 707 exhibitors from 39 countries have signed up to show there, 10 percent more than last year. Some important brands decided to show again after a break, including Adidas, Ortovox and MBT. New Balance, which exhibited last year for the first time, will be there again. Eurobike has 890 exhibitors from 40 countries on its program so far, more than any other year. Organizers say that the poor economic climate, which would typically hurt participation in trade fairs, is helping with theirs because the outdoor and cycling industries are booming as cash-strapped consumers spend their money on recreation and health.
