Outdoor Research, the manufacturer of outdoor apparel, has hired a creative marketing and brand director, Andrew Osborn, and a director of design, Kat Schoewe. Osborn was most recently associate creative director at Archrival, an agency in Portland, Oregon, that specializes in youth culture. There he led campaigns for Adidas, Adidas Originals, Yeti, Adobe, Teva, Red Bull and Hollister, among other firms. Osborn will now be focusing on marketing campaigns and interactive-content strategy for digital, print, events and in-store, liaising with Outdoor Research’s head of marketing, Erika Canfield. Schoewe is a design-team leader with a background in national and international consumer apparel brands. A former design director and senior design leader at Under Armour and L.L. Bean, she was most recently director of design at Pearl Izumi, where she led a product transformation and brand repositioning. She will now be working on function-led design, building a team to elevate Outdoor Research’s aesthetic and align its product collections. The head of product, Liz Wilson, will be her collaborator. Outdoor Research is headquartered in Seattle and currently celebrating its 40th anniversary.
