Gersthofen-based Deuter Sport GmbH has announced a strategic partnership with California-based HydraPak to supply custom hydration systems for its backpacks starting in the 2025 season. The collaboration brings together Deuter’s expertise in technical backpacks and HydraPak’s reputation for durable and flexible drinking solutions.
Under the agreement, HydraPak will produce tailored hydration systems exclusively for selected Deuter backpack models. “We’ve found in HydraPak a partner who shares our commitment to long-lasting, high-quality products,” said Deuter Managing Director Robert Schieferle. “This partnership offers added value to consumers and retailers alike.”

HydraPak CEO Matt Lyon emphasized the synergy: “By combining Deuter’s premium outdoor equipment with HydraPak’s hydration reservoirs, soft flasks and accessories, we can deliver systems that are specifically adapted to athletes’ needs.” HydraPak’s components are known for their reliability and seamless integration into performance gear.
The partnership reflects a broader trend in the outdoor industry to offer end-to-end functionality, especially for active pursuits like trekking, mountain biking, trail running and alpine sports. Deuter, founded in 1898, continues to evolve its product lineup with a focus on comfort, environmental responsibility and user-specific features. HydraPak, active in both consumer and OEM markets, has become a key player in the hydration segment, serving outdoor, military and fitness markets globally.
The co-branded hydration systems will be available with new Deuter backpacks beginning in spring/summer 2025.
