The Bogs brand of boots continued to fuel the turnover of Weyco Group in the second quarter ended June 30. The American brand' sales grew by 18 percent during the period as it continued to broaden its product line. Combined with sales increases of 12 percent and 9 percent for two other footwear brands, Stacy Adams and Nunn Bush, respectively, Bogs' strong progress offset a 3 percent decline in wholesale revenues from Florsheim in Weyco's North American wholesale segment, whose turnover rose by 7 percent to $44.8 million. The gross margin of the segment improved to 31.0 percent, in spite of the weaker Canadian dollar, and its operating profit increased by 26 percent to $2.2 million.
