The Home and Outdoor Living segment of Newell Brands, which includes Coleman and Marmot Mountain, saw a 5 percent drop in sales to $705.4 million, with a decline of one percent in core sales, partly due to Coleman's loss of a major U.S. client last year. The segment's normalized operating margin improved by 0.9 percentage points to 6.5 percent. Its Outdoor and Recreation division enjoyed a sequential improvement in sales points and share trends. Overall, the Newell group reported a decline in net income of 32 percent to $89.8 million on 3.9 percent higher sales of $2.12 billion.
