The practice of sport climbing has been growing rapidly around the world, and the momentum is likely to continue with its inclusion in the Olympic Games. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of its foundation by 57 national federations in Frankfurt on Jan. 27, 2007, the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) is releasing some interesting numbers. It distributed 2,177 athlete licenses last year, up from 1,158 in 2007. The number of national federations that belong to the IFSC rose to 72 a year after its foundation, and they are now 87. The IFSC World Championships held in Paris in 2012 were attended by 19,000 spectators. Live streams of IFSC events were viewed 218,185 times in 2013, and that number more than doubled to 461,693 views last year. In 2016 also over 4.7 million website pages were viewed and the number of Facebook fans surpassed 60,000.
