Vaude has successfully passed an independent re-audit for the EU’s EMAS directive (eco management and audit scheme) for 2009. According to company information, the brand was first in the outdoor industry to fulfill the EMAS criteria in 2008. EMAS certification requires that a company must prove that its eco management is credible, transparent and innovative. The same audit by independent researchers also granted Vaude certification as an eco-friendly company under the international standard ISO14001.
