A Dutch trading company, Wintec Trading, is marketing an interesting collapsible hammock that can be folded into a little bag and tucked into a backpack to nap or sleep anywhere in the middle of nature, and it carries a low suggested retail price of €34.95. Made of the type of nylon that is used for parachutes, it weighs only about 500 grams, one-third the weight of conventional portable hammocks in cotton, and can accommodate a person weighing up to 360 kilos. It comes with an optional night shelter and a mosquito net. Made in Bali and launched two months ago, it is already selling in the U.S., Japan and South Africa, and Wintec Trading is looking for wholesalers and major retailers in Europe (contact info@wintec-trading.nl, mentioning this article).
