(Already published in the Asia Outdoor issue) Baffin is investing $2.8 million on a new 67,000-square-foot global distribution warehouse as well as an energy-efficient retrofit of the 100,000-square-foot original building. The addition will help contain energy-related costs, with eventual savings from 36 percent to 48 percent in electricity bills. The warehouse features narrower aisles, more doors and taller, 32-foot ceilings to speed up shipping processes. The company has also signed as a FIT (Feed in Tariff) partner, with the installation of a 500-kilowatt solar panel on its roof and will initially sell back the electricity. Along with the expansion of its logistics, the Canadian company has also announced that it is expanding its design, marketing and sales staff. Alicia Gies is the company's new communication coordinator.
