As revealed in the The Compass last year, Hi-Tec moved its head office from Southend-on-Sea to Amsterdam earlier this year. The company inaugurated its new building with a dazzling get-together on May 9. The event was attended by more than 400 guests from around the world, from Hi-Tec salespeople and distributors to personal friends of Frank van Wezel, the company’s Dutch founder. He was surrounded by his entire family, including his son Ed van Wezel, who has become Hi-Tec’s chief executive. Several other executive changes accompanied the move to Amsterdam, as reported last year. Hi-Tec settled into a brand-new building of about 3,000 square meters in the southeast of the big Dutch city.
