Boa Technology, the maker of the patented Boa Closure System, has announced that it will open an office in Europe in 2013. The precise location of the new office is not yet finalized. The company currently has offices in Steamboat Springs and Denver, Colorado, as well as Chiba, in Japan, and Hong Kong. Gary Hammerslag, Boa's founder, will lead the European initiative and build the team, starting with the search for an experienced sales and marketing manager. The company has a strong base of more than 130 global and European brand partners in snowboarding, medical, outdoor, cycling, utility and golf, including Nike, Adidas, Salomon, Head, FootJoy, Specialized, K2, DC and others. The move will place it in a better position to serve its existing brand partners and capitalize on growing opportunities in key categories. In 2012, Glenbrook Consumer Partners, a San Francisco-based investment firm, took a strategic majority investment in Boa to accelerate its growth.
