Adam Chamberlain has been appointed as U.S. sales manager at Norrøna, making him the Norwegian outdoor brand's first hire in the country. In more than two decades in the American outdoor industry, Chamberlain previously spent more than six years as vice president of marketing at Black Diamond Equipment, after another six years as product marketing manager for Patagonia. He most recently worked at GU Energy Labs and Science in Sport. Chamberlain's assignment is to strengthen Norrøna's distribution through U.S. wholesale accounts, open brand stores in key markets and support the brand with marketing initiatives. The family-owned Norwegian brand has opened a showroom in Denver, and it covers the market with a distribution center in Chicago. Norrøna previously covered the U.S. market through a few accounts, such as Backcountry.com and REI. The company said that it was investing in the U.S. at a time when there's growing appetite in the market for new brands that share consumers' values.
