After six years in office, Kay Steinbach has decided to step down from his job as managing director of Yeti, the specialty brand of sleeping bags and other down products. A successor has yet to be announced. The majority shareholder of Yeti is Nordisk, the Danish company of outdoor products, while Steinbach's own firm, Product Emotion, has held a 10 percent minority stake. Steinbach intends to sell his shares back to the Danes and intends to launch his own apparel brand next year. He was not willing to unveil details of the new project at this point, but hinted that Product Emotion will launch a line of outerwear that uses completely new garments based on 3D technology.
