Albrecht Volz has become German sales manager for Hanwag, the German outdoor footwear company that belongs to the Fenix Outdoor International group, the owner of several other outdoor brands and retailers in Scandinavia and Germany. This comes after the departure of Jürgen Siegwarth, who has been general manager at Hanwag Deutschland for the last 12 years. Siegwarth is a very familiar face in the German outdoor industry, as he previously spent ten years at Deuter and six at Meindl. Hanwag reports that Siegwarth is leaving at his own request. Volz has already been with Hanwag for more than four years, most recently in charge of sales in West Germany. The company has further appointed Franziska Platz as marketing manager for Germany. She previously spent four years in Sweden, working in social media, communication and marketing for Wildact Aventure, a company that organizes outdoor tours in the Swedish part of Lapland. In October, Alexander Böing was appointed as international art director to support the international marketing team.
