Amy Beck will become president of Oboz/Kathmandu North America, based in Bozeman, Montana, on April 1. Beck has been vice president of North American sales at Smartwool, in Colorado, for almost eight years and previously held an executive post at another brand owned by VF Corp., Lucy Activewear (Lucy has since been folded into The North Face). Her background is in retail, brand marketing, distribution and sales management. John Connelly, the founder, president and CEO of Oboz Footwear, sold his company to Kathmandu Holdings of New Zealand last year. He has been helping the new owners recruit new management and will be scaling back his own role to that of brand ambassador. In her new role, Beck plans to focus on product development and on long-term partnerships with specialty outdoor distributors.
