An experienced executive, Liz Braund, has joined Royal Robbins in the position of vice president of merchandising and design. She will also be in charge of product development and innovation. Braund has spent 20 years in performance apparel, working for important brands such as Nike, The North Face and Oakley. Royal Robbins pointed out that she specializes in developing new business opportunities and extension into new markets and consumer groups. Her appointment follows that of a new president, Michael Millenacker, who worked formerly for Eagle Creek, TNF and Fox Head. As reported in the previous issue of The Compass, Royal Robbins' owner BRS, has big ambitions for the American apparel brand as well as an interest in new acquisitions in the outdoor space.
