Andy Schimeck, who recently resigned as European manager of Marmot Mountain in the course of a reorganization conducted by the Newell Brands group, will join Equip Outdoor Technologies of the U.K. on Sept. 1 in the new position of European director of sales. He will continue to be based in Germany. The group's country managers for the German-speaking countries, Benelux and Norway will report to him. The main goal is to broaden the distribution of Equip's fast-growing Rab brand of outdoor clothing outside the U.K. The group's other brand, Lowe Alpine, is more international already, but it is also poised for growth in certain countries following the introduction of new colors and designs for its backpacks. As part of the internationalization process, the group plans to launch new web stores in France and Germany next year, following a good reaction to the launch of e-commerce in the U.K.
