Black Diamond has appointed Radhika Ray, a former consultant for McKinsey & Company who has been with Cerberus Capital since 2012, to the newly created position of vice president of strategy and investor relations. In addition, the group has hired Robert Fry to serve as vice president of merchandising and Trent Bush to work as vice president of apparel design for Black Diamond Equipment. Both Fry and Bush come from Mountain Hardwear like John Walbrecht, who recently became chief executive of Black Diamond. Fry, who will also be a member of Black Diamond's executive team, worked in R&D and as global director of product merchandising and design at Mountain Hardwear. Prior to that, he worked at Simms Fishing Products and then joined The North Face, where he managed global merchandising strategy and sales of its Summit Series. Bush was vice president of product and design at Mountain Hardwear. He also worked for Brandbase, a company in which Walbrecht was involved, and set up his own design studio after working for many brands including Burton Snowboards, where he co-founded its Analog brand.
