Brian Moore, who served as vice president of global footwear for The North Face for four years until last May, has joined Tracksmith, an American brand of performance running apparel and accessories, as product manager. We understand that his appointment is intended to strengthen the sourcing capabilities of the company, in which Pentland Brands recently made an investment, and to explore the possible launch of a line of road and cross-country running shoes. Moore had previously worked as vice president of product marketing and design for Saucony from 1996 to 2003, as general manager of Gravis for Burton Snowboards from 2003 to 2006, and as vice president of men's footwear for Timberland from 2006 to 2012. Tracksmith has also hired a marketing manager, Josh Rowe, who has spent 15 years at Nike and New Balance. The brand, which was previously selling its products exclusively online, is now starting to develop a small wholesale business in the U.S. Its web store already sells directly to European users.
