Brian Small, who is now 62 years old, is retiring as chief financial officer of JD Sports Fashion on Oct. 31 after 15 years with the company, which has made many important acquisitions lately, including those of Go Outdoors in the U.K. and The Finish Line in the U.S. Under a planned succession program, his place will be taken on Nov. 1 by Neil Greenhalgh, currently group finance director, who has been with JD since 2004. The company, whose retail properties in the outdoor sector also include Blacks and Millets, say that Greenhalgh has been deeply involved in all aspects of JD's growth and international expansion in the last 14 years.
