Columbia Sportswear has announced a new series of management appointments. David Soriano has been named as the new vice-president of footwear manufacturing. Soriano has served as Columbia's general manager of Asia footwear since early 2016. He will report to Tom Cusick, executive vice-president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Columbia Sportswear, he held management roles related to footwear manufacturing operations in Asia for Puma, LaCrosse Footwear and Nike. Soriano will relocate from Zhuhai, China to Columbia's headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Also, Columbia has announced the appointment of Melissa Dugan as chief accounting officer. Finally, Jennifer Warner has joined the company as vice-president of legal. In its most recent third-quarter, Columbia Sportswear posted a 5 percent increase in net income to $87.7 million as compared to the same period of last year. Global sales of apparel, accessories and equipment increased by 1 percent to $580 million, but global footwear sales slipped by 2 percent to $167.4 million.
