Flori Schuster, the 65-year-old main partner in the iconic Munich sports retailer, will be retiring from the management of Sporthaus Schuster on March 31, 2021, after running the family-owned company since 1984. Rainer Angstl, who has been working alongside Schuster since 2003 as managing director, will remain head of purchasing, brick-and-mortar sales, finance, controlling and personnel. Meanwhile, Konstantin Rentrop will be acceding to the top management on April 1, 2021 to oversee digital, marketing, IT and logistics. He has been taking care of these areas in different roles for the past seven years. As announced at the shareholders’ meeting of Nov. 11, the 107-year-old Schuster company will remain family-owned and family-run into a fourth generation. Tobias Schuster, a 35-year-old son of Flori Schuster, will be taking charge of its real estate division on April 1. As an assistant to Angstl, he has overseen e-commerce, purchasing and the Hofstatt fitness store concept. In addition, Benedikt Schuster, the youngest of the three Schuster sons, has joined the corporate group’s extended management. Tobias previously collected experience at Mountain Equipment, Meindl and W.L. Gore. Benedikt has worked for Schöffel and, more recently, for a Munich start-up called Kauflokal.com, a platform created during the lockdown at the beginning of the Corona crisis designed to helped stationary retailers to remain visible.
