John Sanchez has left as president of Zeal Optics after two years with the company, which was acquired by Maui Jim three years ago, to join Costa Sunglasses, the U.S. company recently purchased by Essilor International, in the position of vice president of product development. He will gradually take over the job from Ed Moody, who plans to retire at the end of March after 23 years with the American brand. Sanchez comes with more than 23 years of experience in product development, operations, manufacturing and international sales with eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban, Bollé, Serengeti and Maui Jim. His successor at Zeal Optics has not yet been chosen.
