Keen Footwear appointed Dieter Klingenberg last month to the recently created position of sales and business development director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Scandinavia. Simultaneously, Perry Laukens was appointed to the newly created position of sales and business director for the U.K., France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and nine other countries in Europe and the Middle East. Laukens had been working as marketing director for Keen since 2014, after time spent in Puma's sales and marketing department. Klingenberg held various positions at Adidas and Clarks as well as Birkenstock, where he worked as global chief sales officer for the past seven years. In order to support its growth path in the EMEA region, Keen expanded its European office in Rotterdam earlier in the spring. The U.S. company, which is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, reported recently that it has donated more than $17 million since its creation in 2003 to non-profit organizations to promote responsible outdoor recreation as well as land and water conservation.
