Ken Meidell, the former president and chief executive of Outdoor Research, has been named by Altamont Capital as chief executive of Dakine, which the investment firm acquired from Billabong in July 2013. He succeeds Leslie Lane, who left Dakine in January to take the position of president at Dr. Martens U.S. and Americas. Prior to joining Outdoor Research as chief executive in 2013, Meidell worked at Cascade Designs for 12 years, with executive roles in sales and marketing, and served as vice president and chief information officer of the Outdoor Group. He also held positions in technology and consulting with firms such as Ernst & Young and Blue Martini.
