Klean Kanteen, the family-owned Northern California company that produces a line of reusable food-grade stainless steel “kanteens,” has appointed Martin Stokes as director of operations and quality, to streamline its processes and supply chain. Stokes has over 20 years of experience in operations, logistics, and manufacturing management. In his most recent role as vice president of operations at Biomed Development, he helped the company reduce backorders from over $500,000 to fewer than $50,000. Prior to that, he served as president and chief executive of Burton Medical Products, where he helped the company triple profits in his first year. As director of manufacturing at Easton Sports, Stokes improved manufacturing throughput from 45 days to 7 days, among other achievements. Originally from England, Stokes studied mechanical engineering before moving to the U.S. in 1984.
