Liberty Interactive Corporation, parent company for Backcountry.com and Bodybuilding.com, has announced the extension of the employment contract of its president and chief executive, Gregory B. Maffei, through 2019. Last November, Liberty Interactive indicated that it was planning to expand further the European operations of Backcountry.com in 2015, entering two or three new markets. The U.S.-based e-tailer acquired Bergfreunde.de in Germany at the end of 2013, and it moved into the U.K., Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark last September. In the U.S., Backcountry.com carries the Haglöfs brand exclusively on its revamped website.
