Lundhags has hired a shoe designer, Niklas Karlsson, who previously worked for Hummel on retro-inspired sneakers. The Swedish outdoor brand is going on a product development offensive in the footwear segment, which was the second-largest category for the company when it was acquired by Swix Sport Group at the beginning of 2012. Lundhags has sales of around €12 million in 2011. Swix's total sales rose by around 10 percent to 759 million Norwegian kroner (€90.9m-$125.2m) in 2012, generating operating income before amortization of NOK 70.7 million (€8.5m-$11.7m). Most of the growth was organic (more in Sporting Goods Intelligence Europe).
