McTrek, the German-based outdoor retail chain acquired by the AS Adventure Group in mid-2017, has appointed Marc Rietbrock to the newly created position of marketing and omni-channel manager. The 51-year-old manager reports directly to Dominik Poley, chief executive of McTrek. Rietbrock comes with 20 years of experience in e-commerce and the textile industry. At McTrek, he will be responsible for the optimization of marketing processes and the expansion of the outdoor retail chain. Rietbrock worked previously as division manager for Cocomore, a German-based digital communication agency, where he was running the e-commerce consultancy business area of the agency. Previously, he was involved in the e-commerce business of Lekkerland, Orsays and S.Oliver. Before tackling e-commerce, he worked in the apparel industry in and outside Germany, among others for Rosner and Peek & Cloppenburg. Aside from its extensive online operations, McTrek opened five new physical stores in Germany in 2018 and an additional one in 2019, building up to a current total of 43 stores in the German market. The company's latest published sales figures showed an increase from €52 million in 2016 to €54.39 million in 2017.
