Nora Stowell has left the Amer Sports group to join W. L. Gore & Associates as its global sales leader for footwear, gloves and accessories. Stowell was previously vice president of U.S. sales for the Finnish group's winter, outdoor and cycle divisions, encompassing brands from Atomic and Salomon to Arc'teryx, Suunto and Mavic. As Gore pointed out on her appointment, Stowell has worked for many of Gore's customers, which has given her a strong understanding of the development of components. Prior to appointments at Suunto and the wider Amer Sports group, she worked for New Balance and Völkl. Stowell is vice chairman of the executive committee for the Outdoor Industry Association board of directors, and she staunchly supports the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition. Her achievements in the industry so far earned her the 2016 Pioneering Woman Award for the outdoor industry. This distinction previously went to Lisa Pike Sheehy, Sally Jewell and Sally McCoy, among others.
