Patrick Pons de Vier, former brand manager for Salomon, is head of global footwear at Brooks, the U.S. running footwear company, starting last month. Pons de Vier spent about 18 years at Salomon, starting in 1996 in marketing for snowboarding products. He was leading strategic business development for Salomon's winter sports equipment as well as footwear and apparel products when he formally left the company last October. He was replaced in this position by Eric Pansier, former vice president in charge of marketing for The North Face in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Pansier formally started as vice president for the Salomon brand in July and is based in Annecy. Pons de Vier has moved to Seattle to join Brooks, where he is reporting directly to the company's chief executive, Jim Weber.
