Peter Novak has been appointed president of Sherpa Adventure Gear, maker of outdoor apparel and accessories, and plans to grow the brand in North America. Novak is coming off nine years – first as head of national accounts, more recently as vice president of sales – with 5.11 Tactical, which makes gear for first responders. He has also held executive sales positions at Kelty, Mountainsmith and Royal Robbins, all in the outdoor industry. Sherpa Adventure Gear was founded in 2003 by Tashi Sherpa in honor of Nepal's mountain guides. The company manufactures many of its products in Nepal and provides scholarships for Nepalese children.
