Smith, a Safilo Group brand, has appointed Francesco Rinaldi Ceroni as general manager. He joins the company after more than 13 years in both wholesale and retail eyewear, serving most recently as vice president of international strategy and business development at Costa Del Mar. In his new role, he will lead global business in all commercial channels out of the company’s Portland headquarters, and report to Angelo Trocchia, Safilo’s chief executive. Also noteworthy is Jon Raymer’s promotion to the new position of senior marketing manager at Smith. He has served as bike category manager for the last few years and will now oversee the entirety of the marketing team, social media, public relations and partnerships with contracted agencies, reporting to Rinaldi Ceroni. Next, Allie Flake joins the Smith team as eyewear category manager to support, strengthen and grow the sports eyewear and optical channels. She has over a decade of experience in the industry, supporting product development at Oliver Peoples, Fox Head, Roka Sports and Costa Del Mar. She reports to Smith’s category director, Graham Sours. In addition, Tuomas Kronqvist has been appointed chief financial officer and Ken Salvador promoted to senior finance manager.
