Stefan Krause is the new head of product at Ortovox, the German brand of outdoor equipment and apparel. Effective June 1, he replaced Christoph Kirsch who left the company to pursue other job opportunities. Krause was previously in charge of quality management. He switched from Vaude, where he ran the apparel division. He will be assisted by another new executive, Johannes Kuntze-Fechner. The 28-year-old will act as one of the product managers in charge of hardgoods. Before joining Ortovox, he served Cratoni, the marketer of snow sports and bike helmets, as product manager for two years. The new head of hardware is Dieter Kotlaba who continues to run the management of avalanche transceivers but is taking on responsibility for backpacks, avalanche airbags and emergency equipment as well. Thomas Moe, who has been with Ortovox for many years, has been appointed head of mountainwear and will steer the softgoods division of the company.
