Stephan Drake, who founded DPS Skis together with Peter Turner in 2005, left the company this fall. Now serving as president and chief executive is Alex Adema, who has been the chief operating officer of the Utah-based ski company since 2015. The reasons for Drake's departure from the company have not been disclosed. Utah-based DPS Skis has made a name for itself with aerospace-class carbon skis made in the USA and enjoys an excellent reputation on the freeride scene, thanks to its founders' lifestyle dedication to the sport and the brand's progressive equipment manufacturing. According to the company, Stephan Drake is now pursuing other professional endeavors, but DPS will continue to pursue Drake's legacy with deep commitment to the original vision, honoring the founding principles of “Design, Roots, and Engineering.” These values remain the driving force at the DPS factory and headquarters in Salt Lake City. The head engineer and co-founder Peter Turner continues to lead an expert group of engineers and craftsmen in DPS' new state-of-the-art factory, which opened in February 2019.
