Timbuk2 has named Patti Cazzato as its new chief executive, effective immediately. The veteran retail executive is stepping in as the 25-year-old company's third chief executive and the first woman to lead the brand. Cazzato spent more than 11 years at Gap, working her way up to senior vice president. She also worked to build brands such as Esprit, Sam & Libby and Levi Strauss. In 2007, she founded Clary Sage Organics, an eco-conscious, yoga apparel retailer in San Francisco. Timbuk2, a San Francisco-based messenger-bags maker and primarily online retailer, is opening seven new brick-and-mortar stores by the end of 2014, expanding awareness of the brand in cities including Toronto and Los Angeles.
