Vaude has created a few new positions in its management. René Bethmann has been hired as head of material development for apparel and is set to additionally take over similar responsibilities in the equipment department. The 32-year-old has served in comparable positions at Norrøna and Helly Hansen. Mario Schlegel has been appointed head of design and technical development for hardgoods. Before, he served as product manager at Sport Eybl & Sports Experts, the big Austrian retailer, as well as at Salewa. The 42-year-old already worked for Vaude in the marketing department from 2004 until 2006. Julia Bauer takes on the newly created job of communication manager for corporate social responsibility. Before, she worked at the German N24 TV station and the United Nations office in Vienna in charge of sustainability issues. Matthias Höfer replaces Elke Werner during her maternity break as manager for trade marketing, sponsoring and events.
