Hestra, the Swedish glovemaker for outdoor, snow sports and other purposes, now has its own factory in Europe. It is located in the town of Rakamaz, Hungary, and currently employs 50 people. The company says that it wants to triple the number of employees. Hestra has long contracted manufacturing to Hungarian companies, but now wants to have the gloves on its own hands. The brand will keep its long-lasting production partners in China, but will shift some of the volume to be produced to Hungary. The first Magyar-made gloves will hit the shelves in fall/winter 2012-13.
