Icebreaker, the New Zealand-based outdoor brand which is soon to become part of VF Corp., has announced a ten-year deal with New Zealand merino wool growers. The agreement is designed to grant Icebreaker a long-term supply of merino wool, while providing the brand's consumers with a traceable link back to local growers. The ten-year supply contract is reportedly the longest contract of this type in the country. The deal has been agreed in collaboration with The New Zealand Merino Company, a national wool marketing group. VF Corp. announced plans to acquire Icebreaker at the start of November. The transaction is expected to be complete in early 2018.
