KL Outdoor is merging with GSC Technologies to form a single, vertically integrated manufacturing company that is being described as the world's largest supplier of kayaks. The merger of the two North American firms, whose details were not disclosed, is being funded by New Water Capital, an investment company in Boca Baton, Florida, that had already made a significant investment in KL Outdoor last December and recapitalized GSC earlier last month. Based in Muskegon, Michigan, KL Outdoor sells canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and other watersports and hunting products under the Sun Dolphin, Evoke, Extent, Third Coast and Terrain brands. Based in Montreal, Canada, GSC supplies kayaks and paddlecraft equipment as well as storage and outdoor furniture under the Future Beach, Equinox, Patriot, Heritage and Viper brands. It has production facilities in Canada and the U.S.
