Columbia Sportswear announced on April 16 the final disposition of a lawsuit filed by Innovative Sports of Eugene, Oregon, saying that Innovative Sports had voluntarily dismissed all claims against Columbia and provided written assurances that no future claims would be made against the company. Columbia also said that it made no payment to Innovative Sports. On March 22, 2013, the Lane County Circuit Court in Oregon, the state where both companies are based, dismissed five of six claims against Columbia, including false allegations that Columbia misappropriated trade secrets. On April 12, Columbia filed a motion for summary judgment and submitted evidence to the court to show that the remaining claim was based on false allegations. Within hours of Columbia's court filing, Innovative Sports agreed to dismiss case.
