Columbia Sportswear has obtained a temporary restraining order from a district judge to prevent Seirus Innovative Accessories from initiating an examination by the U.S. Patent Trademark Office of its own Omni Heat design patent. The court had already dismissed Seirus' challenges against the patent's validity without prejudice. The jury in the case awarded damages of $3 million in favor of Columbia.
